ICSC Foundation Looks for Centers that Exemplify Community Support
Your center undoubtedly does great work for its community—if it’s located in Europe or South Africa, it’s time to get those efforts noticed. The ICSC foundation is taking applications for the European Community Support Award.
There’s no fee to submit, but there is a deadline, and it’s very soon: March 7, 2014. It’s well worth taking the time, though. Aside from industry-wide recognition, the award comes with a $5000 USD contribution to your partnering charity from the ICSC Foundation. Any center in those two regions that held a campaign that positively impacted the community between January 1 and December 31 2013 is eligible.
Last year’s recipient of the ICSC Foundation European Community Support Award was Gradski Centar d.o.o. According to the Foundation, the center’s “High 5 for Demining of Petrinja” campaign not only celebrated the centers anniversary—it raised much-needed funds to demine a neighboring community. The center brought in €7,500 from the community and donated another €20,000 of its own to remove landmines, doubling the original area to be demined.
This year it could be your center that is recognized at the Solal Marketing Awards in May, so get your application in. It’s a quick one, but it does require a letter from your partnering charity.
