ICSC European Awards Open Up To Established Centers
Have you been tuning out the buzz about the ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards because your center is established and the awards were only open to new and refurbished centers? Well, take another look: established shopping centres can now compete in ICSC European Awards. Hurrah!
The ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards have decided to showcase the changing retail real estate industry landscape by giving established centres the opportunity to show how they are meeting the needs of investors and users and showing the positive economic impact they are having on their local communities. That sounds like many of our readers’ centers to us.
Or maybe you’re providing green value—fostering a greater awareness of the commercial benefits of sustainable development and management in retail centres. There are awards for this too, once called ReSource and ReStore awards, now renamed Green Value and Green Regeneration.
“These new categories reflect the changing nature of the industry and the hard work being done across Europe to ensure that shopping centres continue to meet the needs of the people they serve,” said Jan Eijkemans, managing director of MAB Development and Chair of the 2013 ICSC European Shopping Centre Awards Jury.
Interest piqued? The deadline for submission is just three short weeks away on September 7, 2012, so it’s time to get working. Finalists will be announced in Cannes in November and winners will shine at the ICSC European Conference in Stockholm in April 2013.
