ICSC Community Support Award Winners
The ICSC Foundation has announced the winners of its U.S. Community Support Awards. The awards recognize shopping centers that work with non-profit partners to reach out to their local communities.
The Wright Shopping Center won the Southern Region award for “Walk with Me.” The campaign saw them partner with Goodwill Easter Seals to help people with disabilities and to promote green recycling efforts.
Tanger Outlet won the Eastern Region award for their “TangerStyle of Pink” campaign. Partnering with the American Cancer Society, they promoted breast cancer research and awareness.
Zona Rosa Shopping Center took the top honor, winning both the Central Region and Overall awards for the “Zona Rosa Community Foundation: At the Center of the Community” campaign. The foundation provides two yearly renewable scholarships to graduating seniors at the local high school and they support 50 local non-profits each year.
The winners were announced at Fusion, with each regional winner receiving a $5000 award for their partnering charity organization. Zona Rosa Shopping Center, as overall winner, is eligible for the ICSC Foundation 2010 Albert Sussman International Community Support Award. This Best-of-the-Best award will be presented at RECon in May, and the winner there will receive an additional $10,000 for their partner charity.
