ICSC Announces Outlets Asia

ICSC has announced a new conference that begins just a few short months from now: Outlets Asia.

Outlets Asia is series of conferences which focus on prospective Asian markets for outlet centers, or malls, selling discounted top brands. This year’s event is a 1 1/2-day conference that will take place on July 28 and 29 at the Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou, followed by tours of Suzhou He Shun Outlets and Changshu Outlets.

“Since China is host to more new outlet projects than anywhere else in Asia, it seemed only logical to launch the series in Suzhou in the booming Jiangzhe region which now has the biggest concentration of outlets in China,” explained Tan Guan Heng, Director of ICSC Asia Pacific.

The launch is an opportunity to bring together key players in the Asian retail and development industries to plan for the growth of the outlet market and to discuss the principles for successful outlet development while drawing on local industry expertise.

“There will be learning opportunities for insiders and outsiders alike,” Tan said. “For local investors and retail executives, the series provides an ongoing opportunity to learn about best practice, planning, operational, regulatory, and other outlet fundamentals essential for success.

“For outsiders, namely international investors who have already climbed the outlet curve in their home markets, the Outlets Asia series is a rare opportunity to get the real story behind the headline numbers.”
