Congratulations, Award Winners
Last week, the BCSC presented its Purple Apple Marketing Awards. Congratulations to all the winners! It’s nice to see the hard work put into some exceptional campaigns recognized beyond the pages of Tactics Magazine.
From the BCSC:
“Purple Apple winners this year include Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington, for its ‘Shopping is Good for You at Golden Square’ campaign, Highcross Leicester for its community relations campaign, ‘Work Highcross’, Liverpool ONE and West London for their spectacular launch campaigns and The Harlequin, Watford for the digital marketing campaign ‘Brand Union’.
Cabot Circus also took home two Purple Apple Merits, for its overall/strategic marketing activity and event for its launch in September 2008. Two Purple Apple Merits were awarded to thecentre:mk, Milton Keynes for its public/media relations initiative for ‘The Centre for Serious Superheroes’ and the digital marketing scheme, ‘The Facebooking of Santa Claus’.”
The BCSC also announced a new category for next year’s awards:
“The Purple Apple for ‘Best Talent Wall’ will be presented in 2010 to the shopping centre that creates the most innovative display celebrating local young people’s talents. The award forms part of the ‘Talent Week’ initiative, which is being developed by BCSC in partnership with Business in the Community, and has been backed by the Prime Minister.”
We can think of several UK shopping centers doing great work with student art, so the competition for this one will undoubtedly be fierce.
