BCSC Addresses The Future of Retail

A funny thing about the future — it’s going to show up, whether we like it or not. So why not go in armed with what knowledge you can by attending BCSC’s Futurscape event later this fall?

The single-day event isn’t a huge investment in time, but it could make a huge impact. Participants will explore the “impact of changing consumer trends on occupier performance and investment,” or more bluntly, the future of your retailers.

Here’s what BCSC has to say on the subject: “Improved dialogue between occupiers, owners and investors will be critical in carving out a successful future retail landscape. This event will consider factors such as multi-channel retailing and its contributions to increased overall customer spend – and the need for retailers to carefully consider the mix of products in their stores to complement their online offer. We will also debate emerging consumer trends and evolving retail business models.”

Some of the big questions the programme asks include the following:

  • The role of the leisure market in creating a more vibrant customer experience: is it relevant for all forms of shopping centres?
  • What do changes in the UK consumer’s shopping preferences mean for retail growth?
  • Will the Government’s strategy for growth deliver for the retail & retail property sectors?

Should be an interesting day. If you’re interested in planning for tomorrow, you can register here. Mark it down on your calendars for December 7, in London.
