Two Rivers Joins Electric Network
Two Rivers Shopping Centre has taken a step for the environment this month by installing two POD Points in its car park.
POD Point is an electric vehicle charging network. It works with businesses to provide convenient charging stations around town. Owners of electric vehicles become members of the network, and can then use the POD points by plugging in and swiping their member cards. The company takes care of installation and maintenance.
It’s an interesting solution to a growing problem: what to do when there is demand for charging stations in your area and your center doesn’t have the infrastructure prepared. It’s an environmental issue – more infrastructure for charging means greater adoption of electric cars, which Two Rivers hopes to see in its area – but it’s also a customer service issue.
