The Potteries Brings Music to Hospitals

The Potteries Shopping Centre is supporting a lovely cause: Music in Hospitals. Specifically, the center is supporting 15 professionally performed live concerts in hospitals healthcare centres across Stoke-on-Trent.

Music in Hospitals sets out to bring the joy and therapeutic benefits of live music to people with all manner of illnesses and disabilities. The concerts are tailored to their audiences, and the musicians’ warmth of personality, breadth of repertoire and excellent communications skills help to bring the person out of the patient.

“Music in Hospitals is a fantastic charity that we are very pleased to be supporting,” said Paul Francis, general manager at The Potteries Shopping Centre. “[Our centre] is at the heart of the local communities we serve. Being able to support something like this means that we can help bring an extra smile through live music to those in need.”

According to Diana Greenman, Chief Executive of Music in Hospitals, the charity’s mission is to improve the quality of life of adults and children in hospitals, hospices, day care centres, care homes and special needs schools through the joy and therapeutic benefits of professionally performed live music. “Each year MiH organises some 5,000 live concerts across the UK,” she said. “We are very excited about working with The Potteries Shopping Centre in bringing the power of live music to adults and children receiving healthcare.”
