The Light Dances for Heart Health
Last Saturday, The Light put on its dancing shoes for heart health with Strictly Red Dancing, a dance competition in support of British Heart Foundation’s Red for Heart campaign.
Twelve teams came out to compete, wowing crowds for two hours in the afternoon. The dance groups that performed included a variety of dance acts, from break dancing to Irish. Novice and experienced dancers showed up, ages 5 to 22. Each group had five minutes to perform, and each group member had to wear red.
DJ Rich Williams hosted the event, and the judging panel included Emmerdale cast member and former Dancing-on-ice star, Suzanne Shaw, along with Stephanie James (marketing manager for The Light) and Sue Green (fundraising volunteer manager for West Yorkshire).
The winning team, Dynamite Dance and Cheerleading Squad (pictured below), took home £500.
