Staples Gives Back for Back to School
Ready for Back-To-School? It’s time to get started, and Staples is already well on its way.
As part of its partnership with Do Something, a national not-for-profit youth organization, Staples has launched Do Something 101, its annual school supply drive. This year’s effort is gaining momentum, and has a lot of marketing clout behind it.
It started with a PSA starring Twilight’s Nikki Reed that encourages teens to help their less privileged peers. The drive is, in general, focused on teen activism, encouraging young people to organize supply drives of their own and to text donations.
Staples also launched the Give-Back Pack, asking teens to join a “pack” led by Kellie Pickler, Drake Bell or Jason Derulo. For each person that joins their packs, the celebrities will donate $1 to the cause. At the same time, Staples has a shopping list on offer for each pack’s picks for cool back-to-school supplies, and plenty of social media links to help the viral spread of the initiative.
