St. Laurent Centre Goes Gatsby

516gatsbySt. Laurent Centre has a close relationship with the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation: they’ve worked together on events like Bust a Move, the Royal Partea and a few other big fundraising events. They’ve just wrapped up their newest, based on this summer’s glitziest, most glamorous blockbuster: The Great Gatsby.

The Great Gatsby Salon sought to bring the luscious looks from the film to life in the center, all in the name of raising money for the foundation. The center converted its old Aldo location into the ultimate salon for that 1920s spirit, by way of director Baz Luhrmann’s over-the-top visuals.

Along with putting together a visual feast of candelabras, white flowers and champagne, the center also pulled together fashions to inspire shoppers and grace their media photoshoots.

In the process, the center managed to pull together a few great blog posts to share with eager shoppers. Bloggers went into the preparation for the fundraiser, gave tips for Gatsby-inspired makeup, and brought in guest-bloggers to show off a couple gorgeous looks.

Ultimately, shoppers came together for food, drink and merriment, swell gift bags and an atmosphere that couldn’t be beat—all for the price of a $65 ticket, proceeds to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation
