St. Laurent Centre Busts a Move for Breast Health

St. Laurent Centre is a big part of one of this year’s premiere cancer fundraisers: Bust A Move for Breast Health.

On March 2nd, hundreds of breast cancer survivors and breast health supporters will visit the Ottawa Athletic Club for hours of heart-pumping fitness fun. Individuals and teams who fundraise at least $1000 per person are invited to participate in the entertainment, which will include a workout class led by celebrity guest Jenny McCarthy.

Each hour features a new fitness routine. Things kick off with the “Great Canadian” Kitchen Party with Tracy Cipryk. Then it’s Dance Revolution with Gina Adams, with a distinct Zumba flavor. Donna Davis brings in yoga for the masses with Feel the Flow, and then it’s time for something completely different: “BAM” Boxing Athletic Movement with Heather-Ann Bratty. Urban Dance with Momentum Moves Canada will introduce participants to urban dance moves that anyone can manage, and help them feel great in the process. Finally, it’s a wrap with the Celebration Party: Time Warp, bringing in moves from decades past.

Between each workout there will be breaks for snacks, hydration, photos and good times. The day will be filled with inspiring testimonials, fabulous prizes and services to make sure everyone has a fun, healthy time.

In the three years since Bust a Move got its start, it’s managed to raise $2 million for breast health programs. Here’s hoping that this year will be even better.
