Cause marketing campaigns have years of history and range from relatively superficial tactical partnerships, to long-term, strategic alliances that penetrate deeply into business and nonprofit organizations.

Forest Lake Shopping Village rose to the challenge created by the Victorian bushfires. Retailers and management at the Australian shopping centre worked together to raise over $3000 for the bushfire charity appeal.

The goal was to bike relay for 700 km – the distance between Forest Lake and Rockhampton. But the cyclists really went the extra mile to help the victims of the bushfires, more than doubling that goal. They skipped past Rockhampton to arrive in Mission Beach – for a total distance of 1526 km.

Great job, Forest Lake! And to everyone else: have staff at your shopping center ever gone beyond the call of duty to help those in need? We’d like to hear about it.
