Queensbay Mall Vogues for Virtue

418vogueFor the past five years, Queensbay Mall has hosted a charitable fashion event called Vogue for Virtue. Each year, hundreds of would-be models try out for the runway, and their registration fees go to charitable organizations. So do proceeds from the Charity Fashion Show at the end of it all. It’s one of the pilars of the center’s Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Not only does the registration fee go to charity, it also gives participants a better shot at showing off their best sides with free hair styling, a free makeover, complementary photo profiling for their entry, and a headshot for their own portfolios, along with shopping center vouchers that balance out the cost of the fee.

The aspiring models run through a few big events. First there’s the Pose & Win competition, and then the Runway Challenge. Anyone of any nationality can enter, so long as they’re between 5 and 40—the challenges are separated into male, female and children’s events.

Nine male finalists, nine female finalists and ten kids finalists will take home hundreds of RM in prizes. A few particularly talented models will win even better, with categories for Best Male, Best Female, Male Body Perfect, Female Body Perfect, and Best Cover Model.

As part of the whole Vogue for Virtue program, the second-to-last night is dedicated to the Charity Fashion Show with Celebrities, which brings in some of Malaysia’s finest for the runway.
