Pavilions Birmingham Hosts Pop Up for Cancer
Last Saturday, Pavilions Birmingham was host to a very special pop-up: the Pop Up for Cancer.
Birmingham Mail tells the tale of this unique pop-up shop, organized by a young woman whose mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Together with six fellow students from Birmingham City University, Samantha Burak set out to raise money for Cancer Research UK in a fashion-friendly manner.
Celebrities including TV presenter Fearne Cotton, style guru Gok Wan and model Zara Martin have all donated clothes, bags and accessories for the students to sell in their shop.
…
Samantha, along with students Lucy Stevens, Abi Jones, Harriet Carter Harper, Hannah Wade, Ciara Lawson and Beth Rimmer, will also be flogging the latest trends donated by shops such as French Connection, Bijoubijoux, Ever Ours, Stylist Pick and Tipsy.
There will also be quality second-hand items on sale, as well as refreshments and live music.
The students have organised the event as part of their degrees in fashion retail management and will be raising money to help fund the university’s Graduate Fashion Week, too.”
