Metropolis Takes Aim at Bullying
Metropolis at Metrotown has always been a big proponent for Pink Shirt Day, a Canadian day of awareness about bullying. This year, it’s encouraging shoppers to get involved beyond the pink shirt, to take a stand in front of their friends and family online.
Throughout February, shoppers can visit the center’s Facebook page and click the “Fight Bullying” tab. They’re encouraged to upload a photo and write a short message about bullying. It’s a very open-ended request, and shoppers can’t see each other’s offerings before they’ve made their own. Sounds like a good opportunity to inspire some careful thought.
There’s a $1500 center gift card for the winning sentiment, and 5 $100 random giveaways for participants. The winner will also see $500 put towards his or her school’s anti-bullying program.
