A Merry Christmas for All
Ten lucky Oakland kids had holiday dreams come true last week.
The ten children are part of a Henry Robinson Multi-Service Center transitional housing program. The program serves 54 homeless families, out of which the ten children (five boys and five girls) were chosen based on their grades, behavior and needs.
The kids got a day off school to visit Stroneridge Shopping Center. They were each given a $200 gift card to fulfill their own Christmas wish lists, and a $50 gift card to buy gifts for their families. And they were accompanied by Rajai Davis and Brad Ziegler, two players on the Oakland A’s (the Major League Baseball team). The kids also went out for lunch and got photos with Santa – and the A’s elephant mascot Stomper.
