Be a Hero, Go Green


Cause Marketing: Cause Marketing is the art of combining your commercial brand with a non-profit issue. Cause marketing campaigns have years of history and range from relatively superficial tactical partnerships, to long-term, strategic alliances that penetrate deeply into business and nonprofit organizations.

Going green isn’t just pragmatic, it’s practically heroic.

That’s what The Brightwater Commons is trying to teach local school children, at least. The South African shopping center has teamed up with Green Peace to give children the opportunity to create the Anti-Global Warming Super Hero and win their school R10,000.

Children can work together in groups of up to ten in one of two competitions. The kids will be shown videos about climate change, and can use that information to create a banner of their own climate change super hero. Points will be awarded for message, crowd support and creativity. The second event lets each team play out a mini-UN scenario, with each student representing a country and discussing what they can do to support eco-friendly practices.
