Help Cancer Survivors Get Back in the Swing
Starting Monday, dozens of shopping centers and hundreds of retailers across America will be raising money to help local breast cancer survivors and their families. It’s part of National Retail Therapy Week, organized by Back in the Swing.
The event is in its eighth year, so this may be old news to you. But it’s only recently gone national (having originated in Kansas City), and it’s certainly one of the better retail fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness out there, so it’s worth hearing about. The concept is simple: Shoppers purchase a card for $25. That card entitles them to up to 20% off at participating retailers and centers for the duration of the event. The money goes to support for breast cancers survivors in the city the card is sold, so shoppers know they’re helping their neighbors. And people get out to shop, knowing they’re doing so for the greater good.
It’s probably a bit late for your center to get in on the event this year, but as the event grows, so do the opportunities for participation. Here’s a link in case you’d like to get involved.
