Fayette Mall Helps Oklahoma Tornado Relief

530givemoreOklahoma is in the midst of a terrible season of storms, including last week’s devastating tornado in Oklahoma City. The storm left a 17 mile path of destruction, and residents struggle to rebuild. People across the country have ben coming together to try to help, and many shopping centers have stepped up to facilitate that charitable impulse.

Last week, Fayette Mall in Lexington, KY reached out to shoppers to bring together what support it could, opening up its parking lot for a donation drive. Organized by the Bluegrass Chapter of the American Red Cross, the drive brought out local media outlets, tv personalities and a ton of goodhearted shoppers.

In total, the Kentucky Cares: Oklahoma Tornado Relief effort brought in more than $90,000. The fundraiser at Fayette Mall brought in $15,000 alone.

The center has also been promoting Red Cross and other major fundraising efforts to its shoppers and Facebook fans.
