Esprit’s Big Bang Helps Abandoned Children

Earlier this week, people in 11 cities around the world drummed up awareness for abandoned children.

Esprit’s Big Bang was a challenge to shoppers: bring people together to bang a drum 3,000,000 times as a call to action. Upon reaching that goal, Esprit would commit to donating €500,000 to the SOS Children’s Villages, which house and support abandoned children. The money also goes to help support the SOS Children’s Villages Family Strengthening Programme, which helps to prevent child abandonment in India.

Many of those bangs came from Esprit stores in those 11 cities. The stores set up Super Drums for shoppers to bang, and tallied up the bangs throughout the day. Melbourne Central, for instance, brought in over 80,000 bangs. While they were banging their drum, shoppers also watched footage of the opening of the SOS Children´s Village in Alibaug.

Esprit reached its goal, making every bang count. With two days left in the drive, it’s reached over 4 million bangs.
