Encourage Children’s Literacy

Cause marketing campaigns have years of history and range from relatively superficial tactical partnerships, to long-term, strategic alliances that penetrate deeply into business and nonprofit organizations.

SM Supermalls in the Philippines is hard at work supporting children’s literacy this summer. Together with a host of partners, including the Department of Education, the National Book Development Board, the Philippine Board on Books for Young People, and other partners, they’ve launched the SM Cares Book Camp.

The Book Camp surrounds Children’s Book Day, July 21. Kids will have lots of opportunities to experience the joys of books, through readings and story telling, book exhibits, author autograph sessions, and more interactive opportunities like writing workshops, essay-writing contests, and children’s book character costume contests.

Ever few years, a series will come along that ignites children’s love of reading, but nurturing a love of words is a full-time activity.
