Brighter Smiles at Market Place
Market Place Shopping Center is one of many US shopping centers that took part in Give Kids a Smile on February 5th.
For one day each year, dentists volunteer their time at local malls and community centers. They offer free dental exams to children who need them. If a child needs other services, organizations are on hand to help them get the care they need. Sponsors provide kits of supplies to participants through the American Dental Association.
The events are treated as fairs, with booths filled with activities, nutritional information and contests. This year, the dentists at Market Place had supplies to treat 500 kids, up from 300 last year, and they’re working to bring more services to these children each year.
