Australian Shopping Centers Collect for the Queensland Flood Appeal

Shopping centers around Australia are working hard to raise money to help their neighbors in Queensland, who are currently experiencing devastating, deadly floods. At time of this writing, the floods have killed 13 people and many more are missing.

Many are collecting for the flood appeals, or supporting charities who are collecting in turn. Chatswood Mall worked with the local city council to collect donations, while Norwest Marketown worked with Lions Club volunteers. One retailer, Cue, is donating 10% of all sales this Saturday to the flood relief effort. Everyone is doing their part.

If your center wants to help, the Queensland government is accepting financial donations to the Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. You can find out more here. The Queensland RSPCA is also accepting donations to help with rescue efforts for pets, livestock and wild animals in the areas affected by the flooding.

Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by the floods.
