On the Move: Bruce Johnson and Lisa Palmer
Soon the torch will be passed at Regency Centers: Bruce Johnson, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, will retire at the end of this year. When he does, Lisa Palmer, Senior Vice President of Capital Markets, will succeed him Chief Financial Officer.
Martin “Hap” Stein, Jr., Regency Centers chairman and chief executive officer, expressed his confidence in Palmer. “While it is always difficult to eventually lose a talented partner and good friend, we are particularly fortunate to have an exceptional executive to succeed Bruce. Lisa is not only a gifted financial professional; she also knows the shopping center business and is ingrained with Regency’s special culture,” said Stein. “In her 15 years with Regency, Lisa has amassed impressive skills from her key roles in capital markets, investor relations, and with our institutional partners.”
As he says, Palmer will be well-prepared for her new role. She has been with Regency since 1996 and has served as its Senior Vice President for the last nine years. In that time she’s led the capital markets and investor relations team, and she’s had primary responsibility for the co-investment partner program since its inception.
Congratulations on the upcoming advancement, Lisa, and all the best to Bruce in his retirement.

On the Move: Brian Nelson
Town Center at Boca Raton has a new general manager: Brian Nelson, a retail sales, marketing and management veteran.
With more than 21 years experience, Nelson should be well and truly prepared for this new role. He’ll be responsible for all aspects related to the continued success of Town Center at Boca Raton including mall operations, tenant relations, leasing, marketing, business development, security and customer service.
“Brian Nelson’s leadership experience will be an asset to Town Center at Boca Raton,” Lydia Gilmore, regional vice president, Florida, of Simon Property Group. “Our team welcomes his enthusiasm and expertise as we continue to enhance the Simon shopping experience at Town Center at Boca Raton with more luxury retail choices and dining options.”
Nelson joins Town Center at Boca Raton from Indianapolis, Indiana where he served as area manager for Greenwood Park Mall, Washington Square Mall and four community centers operated by Simon Property Group. He’s been with the company since 2000, developing new business initiatives and leading the national sales efforts of the Simon Business Network.
Prior to that, Nelson served in various sales training and management roles for a Cincinnati-based wholesale distribution company. He was actively involved in economic development and redevelopment activities in Indianapolis, as well as local government and non-profit boards. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.
Congratulations, Brian!

On the Move: Steven Sewell
One of the longstanding figures in the Australian shopping center industry has taken on a new challenge: Steven Sewell has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Centro Retail Australia.
Sewell has held several prestigious positions in the industry, including CEO of Charter Hall Retail REIT, formerly Macquarie Countrywide Trust, and national head of property management at QIC Property. Those led to his appointment as the current chairman of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia.
“The Board is extremely pleased that Steven has agreed to lead Centro Retail Australia through its next phase. He has extensive experience in the management and development of Australian shopping centres, a proven track record of success as a Chief Executive Officer, and a demonstrated ability to drive shareholder value,” said Bob Edgar, Centro’s chairman.
Sewell succeeds Mr Robert Tsenin, who announced his intention to retire following the successful restructure of Centro Properties Group last November, which resulted in the creation of Centro Retail Australia, an Australian Real Estate Trust specializing in the ownership and management of shopping centers.
Congratulations on the move, Steven!

On the Move: David Allinson
Manchester Arndale has a brand new Center Manager, who will have to land running starting in the midst of the Christmas shopping season.
But it sounds like he’s up for it. David Allinson has over 18 years of commercial and retail experience to help ease him into the new job. He’s taking up the position at the start of this month. He’ll be replacing Glen Barkworth, who has stepped down after 11 years’ service.
Allinson’s experience is within the leisure, airport and shopping centre industries – and he’s leaving a position as General Manager of the Golden Square Centre in Warrington.
“I am very much looking forward to joining the Manchester Arndale team and working with the stakeholders and the community in Manchester,” said Allinson. “Manchester Arndale is a very successful shopping centre and I am committed to moving it from strength to strength.”
Congratulations on the move, Dave!

Carl Chudnofsky, former executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Prime Retail malls, has joined The Noerr Programs Corp. as president.
According to Noerr founders and co-chief executive officers Judy Noerr and Philip J. Byrne II, “we have known Carl for many years, personally and professionally.
