Leasing Deals: August 18
- Vorhees Town Centre is coming along beautifully, by the sound of it. The mixed-use development has just announced that Osteria Duo will be joining its restaurant row. It’s a new-concept rustic, romantic Italian restaurant. It joins Firecreek Restaurant + Bar and Doghouse Gourmet Burgers in opening up this year.
- Boynton Beach Mall just hosted a grand opening celebration for CCS, Foot Locker, Inc’s skate and extreme sports concept. This location is a first for CCS in the South Florida area. The opening included giveaways and live music — fun!
- Willow Grove Park Mall recently lost a Strawbridges, and finding a tenant to take the large space was a hard sell. So they reconfigured and have managed to welcome jcpenney, Nordstrom Rack, Bravo Cucina Italiana and Forever 21 into the space. Talk about efficiency.
- Texas’s The Shops at Highland Village has picked up two new retailers: Soma Intimates, a specialty brand of Chico’s, and Megan’s Lifestyle Boutique, a local women’s and children’s retailer. Together they’ll be taking nearly 5000 square feet.
- In an effort to bring in more independent retailers, The Octagon Shopping Centre welcomed Glitzie to its ranks last month. A local shop that sells costume and hand-made jewellery, Glitzie is expanding its range with wedding dresses and gifts this month.
- Scarborough Town Centre has leased a whopping 60,000 square feet to new retailers that are opening between this fall and next spring, including Victoria’s Secret, Forever XXI, Justice, ecko unltd., Zumiez and Journeys as well as Canadian Aritzia, M for Mendocino, LOCALE and Eyestar Optical. These fashionable retailers will complement the centers new post-renovation look nicely.
- Shoppes at Chino Hills has gone spa-crazy, with three new health and beauty leases: Facelogic, Nirvana Threading Salon and Massage Heights.

Leasing Deals: June 23

- The Americana at Brand scored a fantastic lease this month, snagging one of the first two Disney Baby stores when they open next year. No details yet, but it sounds like this will be infant wear, nursery items and other adorable things. Awww!
- GA Keen Realty Advisors found leases for 41 properties previously filled by Metropark shops after the clothing retailer went out of business. Impressively, the company pulled the feat off in two weeks, leasing most to Cotton On Group and the rest to Perry Ellis Menswear.
- The Grove in Los Angeles will be picking up an Altheta location this fall. Athleta is one of this year’s ICSC Hot Retailers, so great work on that one.
- Speaking of those hot retailers, Regency Center’s Seminole Shoppes will be home to Jacksonville’s first Smashburger. The eatery is taking a 2,100 square foot location and opening for business this fall.
- Another yummy lease: Macon Mall will be the new home of Smok’n Pig BBQ as part of the center’s redevelopment. The top-10 restaurant will open later this year.
- Samsonite Group is expanding rapidly in the Middle East, opening a stand-alone shop this month in Al Tahlia Shopping Center in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Leasing Deals: May 25
- Eagles Meadow Shopping Centre recently leased 2000 square feet to Sugacane Limited, the largest sweet shop franchise in the UK.
- Boynton Beach Mall has had a good year so far, welcoming eight new local retailers and snagging the South Florida debut of CCS, a national skate and extreme sports concept store from Foot Locker, Inc. The new retailers include Abbey Photography Studio, Comfort Shoes, Kara Fashions, Le Petit Pain, Pigtailz and Coolcutz children’s hair salon, Ragg Tagg, II Gender, Mixx, and Humana insurance.
- Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust has invited two unique community resources to its centers. The town hall of Voorhees, New Jersey, relocated from an outdated, overcrowded facility to the new 24,300 square foot Voorhees Town Hall at Voorhees Town Center. Meanwhile, National Entrepreneur Center (NEC) opened at Orlando Fashion Square. Sponsored by some big names including Walt Disney World, the 22,000 square foot NEC is home to a number of business assistance organizations.
- Citadel Outlets has brought Juicy Couture and Perry Ellis to its roster of brand-name retailer outlets.
- Cabela has opened its first Oregon location at Gateway Mall. It’s a 58,000-square-foot location that’s been fully renovated to feature museum-quality wildlife displays, historic memorabilia and trophy animal mounts to capture Cabela’s unique look.
- Nature’s Pet Market has leased 2,990 square feet of retail space at Regency Center’s Murrayhill Marketplace.

Leasing News & Deals: April 21
- Westmount Shopping Centre has leased a 32,000 square foot location on its top floor to the London Health Sciences Centre’s renal dialysis clinic. It’s expected to commence operations in the spring of 2012 and will serve 1,200 patients in the surrounding community and the broader Southwestern Ontario region each year.
- Pompano Citi Centre in Pompano Beach Florida announced the opening of South Florida’s Newest GNC Live Well location, a 1,200 square feet store, opened earlier this month.
- LA’s Citadel Outlets had five new openings over the past few months: Rockport, Sprockets Kids, U.S Polo Assn., The Children’s Place, and Tilly’s, totaling over 20,000 square feet. The center has also just announced the upcoming arrival of the first Vince Camuto branded outlet in California.
- Coral Square Mall had two big fashion and beauty openings this month: Sephora and Francesca’s Collections.
- Smoke Tree Village is welcoming an impressive five new, locally-owned restaurants to its lineup. They include Teriyaki Yogi, Pho 533, Twisted Bistro, Giuseppe’s Pizza and Pasta, and Hedi’s Café Paris. Quite the global collection of local dining.
- Under Armour will open a new 4,900 square foot store at the Tanger Outlet Center. The Under Armour store is scheduled to celebrate its grand opening on May 10th.
- ViMed has leased 3,800 square feet of space at Regency Center’s Westchase shopping center.

Leasing Deals: March 31
- Castleton Square Mall will celebrate the grand opening of its 1,200-square-foot LEGO store on April 8.
- Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust has signed leases on two new mid-box locations at Hunter’s Square shopping center, including a 10,154 square feet expansion for Bed, Bath & Beyond. Meanwhile, buybuy BABY has leased 29,000 square feet in the center’s former Borders location.
- The Shops at Chino Hills has added two new restaurants to its roster – Dillon’s Irish Pub & Grill, which is taking an 8,000-square-foot space and opening this fall, and Dripp, a new concept coffee boutique and ice cream sandwich shop.
- On Saturday, IZOD will open a new 3,000 square foot store at the Tanger Outlet Center in Tilton, NH.
- Earlier this month, Stone Market opened its first store in the U.S. at Hollywood & Highland Center.
- Lakeside is looking forward to the launch of a new and original lingerie store concept from Theo Paphitis called Boux Avenue, which opens on April 8.
- Regency Centers has been busy this month. The developer is adding 9100 square feet of leasable space to Seminole Shoppes and has already leased some of the space to Hurricane Grill & Wings and TCBY. It’s also leased space at Lower Nazareth Commons to Highmark Blue Shield, 5000 square feet at Hyde Park Plaza to The Snooty Fox, and 2,475 square feet at Overlake Fashion Plaza to Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
